How Toon Tone handles local game data and basic site operation.

Toon Tone is a lightweight browser game. The first version does not require an account, payment, or profile.

Local game data

The game may store your best score and current streak in this browser with localStorage. Color guesses are scored entirely in your browser and are not sent to a Toon Tone server. This local data stays on your device unless you clear browser storage.

Share actions

When you create a share card, the card is generated in your browser. If your browser supports native sharing, you can choose where to send it. Otherwise the image downloads to your device.

Analytics and consent

Page loads may use optional analytics to understand basic traffic and gameplay quality. Supported providers include Plausible, Google Analytics 4, Microsoft Clarity, and Cloudflare Web Analytics. These providers may receive your IP address, device and browser information, referrer, and page-view events as part of normal web analytics — but they do not receive your in-game color guesses, which never leave your browser. If a provider needs consent, Toon Tone may store your analytics preference in localStorage so the banner does not appear on every visit.

Share-card links may include campaign parameters such as utm_source=share_card and ref=share_card so we can understand whether shared cards bring visitors back to the game.

Original materials

Toon Tone prompts reference generic everyday objects (foods, nature, sports gear), perpetual public-domain folklore and literary characters (Little Red Riding Hood, Robin Hood, the original 1865 Alice illustrations, the 1812 Snow White tale, the 1900 Wizard of Oz book), and generic childhood-throwback colors (glow-in-the-dark stars, friendship bracelets, jack-o'-lanterns, chalkboards, watermelon popsicles). It does not use studio-owned cartoon art, modern characters under copyright, or registered trademarks of third parties as game content.
